Abstract

This project aims to analyze the workers´ involvement with production management methods in auto part companies, comparing its results to researches conducted in previous decades. With the spread of lean production, since the 1980´s, there was a expectation of significant changes related to worker´s participation, which was confirmed mainly in the analyzes of quality and improvement methods. More recent researches, however, suggest that this form of involvement has advanced, but then stabilized. This research will be held at the auto part industry, first through a survey, in order to obtain an overview about the methods adopted and in which there is employee involvement. After that, at least two case studies will be done, aiming to deep the understanding of the topic and the decision-making and implementation of the methods identified. (AU)
