Resignifying university-school partnerships for the development of supervised internships: references for the collaborative project

Abstract

This project derives from the Fapesp Project 2018/16585-1 entitled Professional Training for Teachers and Democratic Management: a university-school partnership for the improvement of public education (PF2018), which ended in February 2022 In PF2018, the elements that proved to be important in the constitution and support of partnerships between two universities and public schools in the state of São Paulo were investigated. The longest partnership studied was between UNIFESP and EE Raul Saddi, revealing evidence of a transformative partnership (JONES et al., 2016) in which the involvement of school managers (coordinators and principals) was fundamental to sustaining the partnership at the over time. In the new research, we intend to continue the analysis of the data of this partnership and investigate the process of building or rebuilding other partnerships based on the results already obtained in the previous project. We will investigate partnerships aimed at the development of supervised curricular internships in the formation of Physics teachers, understanding that the internship is not only an initial formation activity, but also a continuing education activity, in which subjects can develop, reflect and improve their practices in collaborative dialogue with others, with an impact on the quality of classes and school management. The involvement of managers of basic education schools is a situation which is not very present today in the partnerships established for the development of internships in the Physics Undergraduate course at the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo. Thus, the main objective of this project is the production of new knowledge about collaborative work in university-school partnerships, with the resignification of the internship partnerships of the Physics Undergraduate course of the University of São Paulo and expansion of the results produced in Fapesp Project 2018/16585-1.
