Abstract

The objective of this project is the acquisition of scientific information required for the development of valuable applications for two residues of sugarcane processing: bagasse and bagasse ashes. The project is based on recently published, powerful methodologies and concepts developed by the proponent, in the areas of analytical electron microscopy and interfacial adhesion in composites formed by components that have been hitherto considered as incompatible. Project budget aims mainly at paying research personnel and also to support running expenses. This project fits into one one the main targets of the LNNano laboratory: developing new nanostructured materials from biomass. (AU)
