Abstract
The main challenge of modern cosmology is comprehending the causes and consequences of the accelerated expansion of the Universe. Large international collaborations have brought together experts from various backgrounds in the search for explanations still not found in the standard model. The Dark Energy Survey (DES) is an experiment that will investigate cosmic acceleration using a series of independent and complementary techniques. In this research project we investigate dIfferent aspects of cosmic acceleration via participation in the DES, planned to start operations this year. (AU)
