Abstract

The diagnosis of mastitis is essential for the efficient control of mastitis infection in farm animals, thus the aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of B-mode ultrasonography for the diagnosis of the disease, allowing early treatment of animals. Will be used Saanen goats of reproductive age (2-5 years), divided into three groups: healthy animals (GS, n = 10), animals with asymptomatic mastitis (GA, n = 10) and goats with clinical mastitis (GC, n = 10). The animals will be subjected to specific examination of the udder. The milk will be subjected to microbiological analysis, CMT and screened mug test. Through the B-mode and Triplex Doppler will assess the sonographic features of the mammary tissue of animals and vascular indices will be determined. The data are expressed as means ± standard deviations, and subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and linear regression for correlation between the sonographic findings, clinical and microbiological data.
