Evaluation of lung maturity of kids born at term and preterm infants by sputum cytology test, Clements and lamellar body count in amniotic fluid of goats

Abstract

Assess the clinical and laboratory profiles of kids born premature and terms. Will be used 24 kids, eight babies to term, with 145 days, and 16 kids born with about 138 days, via caesarean section. They will be submitted to physical review over 48 hours were established after birth, with respect to vitality, mucous coloration, rectal temperature, heart rate and respiratory characteristics (frequency and respiratory pattern). The amniotic fluid is obtained from all goats, by aspiration, and samples will be evaluated by cytology test, Clements and body count lamenares. Blood samples shall be taken of kids at birth, at the age of 15 and 60 minutes, as well as the 24 and 48 hours, aiming at determining the globular volume (VG), hemoglobin (Hb), as also of the variables hemogasométricas and glucose levels and serum lactate. It will be observed at the same time, the pattern of pulmonary radiological goats born at term and premature neonates from goats subjected or not to corticoideterapia two days before the scheduled date of calving.
