Abstract

The economic history of work, comprehensive nature, aim to further unravel the roots of Brazilian industrial development from the agricultural base, exporting coffee read, in addition to questioning the formation of the internal market. The dynamics undertaken during the first Republic in Brazil was exhaustively crafted from joint analysis, however, leaves gaps and possibilities of new questions that can both deepen the general approaches and bring up local and regional specificities. This study seeks to make possible the stiffness of the Brazilian economy and focus exporter as example aims to understand the impact of coffee production in the city of Franca, during the Decade of 1920, which would not have promoted only changes in productive bases, but also changes of traditional activities. Undertake detailed analysis of the economy of the municipality of Franca-SP, in the Decade of 1920, taking into consideration General approaches and questioning, showing the dynamic strength of coffee in addition to external market and incentives for industrialization, but also as a feedback force of traditional activities, emphasizing the weight of a consolidated structure. To do so will be checked the continuities and transformations: 1) land pattern of municipality and the material structure of rural properties combining with the activities they carried out; and, 2) wealth and investments-rural and urban-owners that exercised activities designed to keep, to regional supply and export (coffee).
