Abstract

Current devices offer interaction with the games through three forms of communication and experience user-system: 1) local tangible interfaces; 2) mobile tangible interfaces; 3) intangible or gestural interfaces. This context presents a scenario of limited user-system interaction seen the underexplored potential of interaction from the user’s emotions and from wearable devices. It detects a promising field of applied research innovation in the development of new physical interfaces for interacting with games that can provide greater immersion to the user. The research project aims to research and development: 1) neurobiometric wearable interfaces for local interaction and 2) wearable interfaces for mobile interaction, including the methodological steps: (h) literature review; (i) experimental research; (j) development and implementation of systems; (k) partial testes; (l) evaluations with final users; (m) project amendments; (n) patent applications; (a) publication of results. All these steps will be accomplished in collaboration among the researchers form OCAD University and Anhembi Morumbi University, and the professionals from Xenophile Media and Zuannon Integrated Solutions from distinct integration actions. Aims as results an innovative approach to the development of a new physical interfaces for interacting with games, able to provide greater immersion to the user, and benefits related to learning context, providing recreational experiences and motivating the acquisition of knowledge through the use of interfaces proposed by this research project. Impacts are prospected on other markets, in view of the wide range of applications that the products to be developed by this research presents. (AU)
