Abstract

Animal models in laboratory species are fundamental for coprehension of pathologic processes that involve experimental infection. Encephalitis are severe pathologic processes, immune and inflammatory responses are poorly understood and can participate in the pathogenesis of these diseases. Identification of patterns or markers of immune and inflammatory response are detrimental to comprehend mediation of thes processes. Murine Models have been used to elucidate immune and inflammatory response in viral encephalitis. Factos like neurovirulence and neuropathogenesis are still little understood in samples isolated from spontaneous diseases of domestic animals. This project aims to study and identify markers of immune and inflammatory response in viral encephalitis experimentally induced in mice. Citokyne participation and regulation of cellular response are important factos in evolution of encephalitis. Evaluation of these factos can reveal markeres of the process and aid in comprehension of the lesion developed by the ethiologic agent, as well as the participation of immune system in the evolution of these diseases that are lethal to the animals.
