Abstract

The above-mentioned research project is a continuation of a fruitful scientific collaboration between two research groups of well-matching scientific interests (Department of General Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland, and the Polymer Group of the Institute of Physics, USP, at São Carlos, Brazil). The successful collaboration between both groups dates back to 1998, when Prof. Patrycja Dynarowicz-Atka joined the research group in São Carlos for one year, researching Langmuir monolayers formed by a novel class of polyphenyl carboxylic acids. This collaboration resulted in 16 common publications and in a plethora of conference contributions. The research will focus on the application of semifluorinated amphiphiles (i.e. semifluorinated thiols) to modify electrodes used in OLED devices for the purpose of improving their efficiency. (AU)
