Abstract

The deployment of Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), based on universality, integrality and equity, and the National Drug Policy in Brazil, in the 1990s, formed the legal basis for improving population health, especially in relation to pharmaceutical services and the appropriate use of medicines. However, several barriers still exist to consolidate professional practices involved in the reorganization of pharmaceutical services, highlighting its fragmentation, lack of referral center for qualified information about medicines and lack of an unified modeI applicable to the pharmacotherapeutic follow up (pharmaceutical care) for SUS patients, factors that have contributed to excessive increase in lawsuits (judicialization process) in the medicines area. The main objective of this work is to develop a model of pharmacotherapeutic follow-up of patients in the School Pharmacy at USP (FARMUSP), in partnership with the São Paulo's Secretary of State of Health (SES-SP), in order to assess their applicability in Primary Healthcare Units (PHU) of SUS in the State of São Paulo, as well as collaborating with the establishment of mechanisms to face the phenomenon of judicialization. Thus, we will conduct literature review on models of pharmacotherapeutic follow-up of patients, as well as tours, workshops and seminars on the subject, in order to subsidize the creation of this model by conducting a pilot study in FARMUSP. In parallel it will be created the Drug Information Center of FARMUSP, settling further procedures to be adopted for the future service demands for information from the Paulista School of Magistrates, Attorney General of the State of São Paulo and the Ministry of Public State of Sao Paulo to support decision making in the legal aspects, with no conflicts of interest.
