Abstract

Objectives: To compare the characteristics sociodemographic and health among the old adult and institutionalized old adult of Santa Rita do Sapucaí and Pouso Alegre; to compare the perception of quality of life and spiritual/religious coping and identify sociodemographic and health related quality of life and spiritual/religious coping among these old adults. Methods: It will be a comparative, cross-sectional, epidemiological study uses secondary data from research that evaluated the sociodemographic and health and quality of life and spiritual/religious coping institutionalized old adult with data from the old adult community of Santa Rita do Sapucaí and Pouso Alegre, Brazil. A purposive sample for the institutionalized old adult was 77 and probability sample for the old adult of the community will be of 232 old adult in the Santa Rita and Sapucaí and Pouso Alegre, Brazil. Will be used for community old adult instruments used in research with institutionalized old adult: a addressing socio-demographic data and health of the old adult; Mini-Mental State Examination; WHOQOL-bref, Whoqol Old and spiritual/religious coping - SRC . Will be descriptive analysis with absolute and relative frequency, mean, median and standard deviation. In inferential statistics inferential testing will take according to the variables of interest. The search will start only after approval of the Ethics Committee and the Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Brazil. (AU)
