Abstract

The present project encompasses a number of topics using the methodology introduced by Edson D. Leonel and his co-workers for the study of two-dimensional maps but applied to nonlinear discontinuous maps, which represent a family of dynamical systems different to that exemplified by Chirikov's standard map. Most of the topicsthat are mentioned below will be investigated both using analytical and numerical treatments. (AU)
