Abstract
In this project we will discuss from an anthropological angle how the landscape of the Amazon and Andean region of South America is understood in a moment of economical growth and extractivist projects. Following the indigenous and other more recently stablished communities, towns and small cities the aim of this research is to collect images, testimonies and knowledge about this moment of mobilization, new experiences and social change. In order to develop the project we will visit critical places related with development and extractivist economies, conducting short fieldworks. We will combine traditional ethnographic method and visual antrhopology technics, together with documentation and bibliographical work. Meetings, workshops and encounters in UC Davis and USP will be the moment of reflection around the collected material. The expected results will be related to the collection of important visual and ethnographical testimonies of an important social and environmental ongoing process, together with the gains of the exchange and international partnership.
