Abstract

This project aims to conduct paleobotanic studies at Paraná Basin during the Carboniferous-Permian interval through different techniques: database and geostatistical analyses, analysis of multispectral images, paleoartistic reconstructions of selected biotas, and petrographic study of carbonate layers associated with fossil plants. The application of such techniques is aimed to develop a biostratigraphic study through phytofossils, expand knowledge about the flora evolution in the interval, and test the use of remote tools for acquiring information about fossiliferous sites.
