This work is part of the research in the Department of Energy - Faculty of Engineering Guaratinguetá - FEG / UNESP and Associate Laboratory of Combustion and Propulsion - LCP / INPE, Cachoeira Paulista, which already conduct research on biomass combustion. These resesearches are divided into field experiments, laboratory experiments, and modeling. The goal of this work is to characterize physical- chemically, burning monitor and evaluate the kinetics of decomposition of different biomasses of the Amazon Biome using the technique of Differential Thermal Analysis - DTA and Differential Scanning Calorimetry - DSC. With the results of this study will be determined properties of biomass, such as the ignitabilidade, mass loss, the enthalpies of decomposition and activation energies. This research presents an innovative character because it collects data on key properties and physicochemical characteristics of different biomass of the Amazon Biome and these results will be useful for composing a database reference mapping in the prevention and control of forest fires and radiation damage.
