Abstract

The visiting professor Vítor da Silva will collaborate with the teaching, research and extension activities developed by the Núcleo de Apoio à Pesquisa em Estudos de Linguagem em Arquitetura e Cidade (N.elac), IAU.USP and will cooperate with the researches by Prof. Dr. Joubert José Lancha, Prof. Dr. Paulo César Castral, Profª. Dra. Simone Helena Tanoue Vizioli and Prof. Dr. Givaldo Luiz Medeiros, N.elac members. This Group has been developing researches about themes related with language and representation emphasizing the cognitive processes in the architecture and city perception and in the project process. These researches intend to characterize the different theoretical and practical perspectives present in the relation between the representation means and the Architecture and Urbanism teaching. The Vitor's visit also belongs to the activities that are being developed in the PROGRAMA USP/PORTO - Projeto: 2011-13" (renewed for 2014/ 2015), concerning the "Acordo Cooperação Internacional USP/ UP - Instituto de Arquitetura e Urbanismo - USP (IAU.USP) / Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Porto (FAUP), which project is called "Arquitetura, Desenho e Representação - metodologias de desenho no ensino de Projeto". As a result of this Cooperation, we can mention the organization of a Itinerary international Exhibition, in which it will be presented several projects of São Paulo and Portugal architects, students projects of the FAUP and IAU.USP and the products of the Workshop "Desenho + Projeto", the first one occurred in the Ouro Preto City (BR) and the second one in the Porto City (PT). The visiting professor has been here in Brazil twice (2012 and 2013); in the last time he organized and participated in the Colloquium "Desenho + Projeto: diálogo entre São Paulo e Porto" (this event was financed by the FAPESP, process no. 2012/25047-7). Although this event took place in 2013, its consequence will occur in 2014: a book that will be distributed in Brazil and in Portugal. In that occasion, the visiting professor also participated in the workshop: "Desenho + Projeto". The results of this workshop will be presented in the Exhibition IAU.USP - FAUP, estimated to happen in October 2014 in Brazil and in November 2014 in the Porto City. The visitor Professor's background is aligned with the researches that are being developed at the N.elac (Núcleo de Apoio à Pesquisa em Estudos de Linguagem em Arquitetura e Cidade): a) freehand drawing, analogical and digital media and the architecture project process; b) Architecture, drawing and representation: drawings methodologies in the project teaching; c) Architecture and city perception and d) Architecture and city means of representation. Among the scheduled activities, Vítor intends to develop a research project in cooperation with the Brazilian professor, regarding the "Frame and assembly table: the use of the drawing in the architecture project". This theme is a hypothesis of the investigation and study about the theoretical and practical spaces drawing issues and its relation with the creative architecture project process. Besides these activities, the visiting professor will participate in the master and doctoral boards, as well as in the graduation boards. In the second semester of 2014, Vítor will cooperate in the discipline IAU.0738 Desenho de Arquitetura II, in addition he will offer an optative discipline with the N.elac professor about the drawing and project: methodologies and structure. The final activity, planned to be executed in the end of the semester, will be a workshop on the different means of drawings: papers and digital media. (AU)
