The visiting researcher will work on four research projects underway in Ultrasound Laboratory of the Polytechnic School of USP in specific activities within his competence, supporting ongoing research activities and collaborating in co-supervision of MSc and PhD students. One project is supported by FAPESP on the ultrasonic characterization of solid materials. The other three research projects are supported with funds from Petrobras/ANP. Two of the projects are ultrasound applications in chemical processes, one about the study of the feasibility of using propagating ultrasonic waves in a molecular oil distiller and the other about ultrasonic aided coalescence of water in water-in-oil mixture. The other project is on the development of advanced ultrasonic tools for monitoring corrosion in the oil pipelines. The activities of the visiting researcher are related to his expertise in signal processing and experimental verifications of ultrasonic techniques in low and high power applications. (AU)
