Abstract

This proposal is concerned with the study and development of low-cost algorithms for parameter estimation, such as adaptive and Kalman filters. We also intend to develop low-cost alternatives for high-performance adaptive filtering strategies, such as combinations of adaptive filters and distributed estimation. We intend to study the new algorithms theoretically, developing models to guide their application in practical problems. We also intend to implement some of the new methods in hardware, in order to obtain a more accurate measure of their performance. (AU)
