Abstract
This Multi-equipment project aims the installation of an Ultra high performance liquid chromatograph coupled to a photodiode array detector and tandem mass spectrometer (UPLC-DAD-MS/MS) in an institutional space (Institute of Chemistry, UNICAMP) to attend the thematic project entitled "RESIDUES OF VETERINARY DRUGS IN THE ENVIRONMENT" (FAPESP 2013/09543-7), as well as other projects of researchers from the internal and external community of the Institute of Chemistry, UNICAMP.The combination of ultra high performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry has been a powerful tool in the identification, quantification and identity confirmation of analytes in complex matrices. The development and improvement of the electrospray ionization revolutionized the mass spectrometry, which allows the observation of molecular ionic species with little or no fragmentation. Thus, the combination of the source of the ESI mass spectrometer results in a device with high potential to be used in many analytical applications, since the detection of small molecules to macromolecules which have a prominent role in biological processes, such as proteins, polysaccharides, nucleic acids, among others. The characterization of the molecular structure and reliability in quantification is achieved through the technique of induced framentaton, made possible by the combination of tandem mass spectrometers (MS - MS).Thus, the required equipment has a wide application in various areas of technological sciences, and health and technology. The analytical versatility of the equipment must meet the needs of many research groups and specially the research group of the tematic project which aims to evaluate the environmental impact of veterinary drugs in the environment.
