Abstract
This study takes part of the research branch: "The history of medical and public health practices in Brazil, that has been developed since 2006 at the Preventive Medicine Department of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo, specially focused on São Paulo's context. Researches that approached the period of 1920-1950 have been done, showing that since 1950 specialized fields were borne and developed in Health sector, Public Health among them. The study of those subsequent periods ( 1960-2013) is the goal in this project, focusing the development of Collective Health in the state of Sao Paulo. Methodologically it is based on a documental branch, organized in an institutional and academic corpus, and an oral history approach by interviewing those who were the founders of this field and/or participated of its formulation since the beginning.
