Abstract

AbstractProsopis rubriflora and Prosopis ruscifolia are important species of Brazilian's chaquenian areas, for being restricted and frequent on this physiognomy they are excellent models for conservation genetics studies. The use of microsatellite markers (Simple Sequence Repeats or SSR), have great prominence in recent researches and has proven to be powerful tools for both ecological and molecular studies.In this study, we present the development and characterization of 10 new markers for P. rubriflora and 13 new markers for P. ruscifolia. The genotyping was realized with 40 samples of P. rubriflora and 48 samples of P. ruscifolia from Brazilian's chaquenian remnants. The polymorphism information (PIC) content ranged between 0.073-0.791, and it wasn't detected null-alleles and deviation of Hardy-Weiberg for P. rubriflora. The PIC values for P. ruscifolia ranged from 0.289-0.883, and it was detected departure of HW also null-alleles for some loci, however, that can be resulted from anthropic activities, such as cattle breeding on the collected remnant areas, which is very common for these areas.In this study we are providing brand new SSR polymorphic markers which can be helpful for future genetics studies of these species.
