Computer game to identify features of the attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder in children

Abstract

Children with Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are typically evaluated negatively in the school environment and consequently show low level of satisfaction with their own achievements. This predisposes to school failure. Therefore, an accurate diagnosis, produced early in the school life of the child is essential. However, the traditional diagnostic methods are based on questionnaires completed by parents and teachers, generating subjective results. The computational tools developed to replace them and make the most assertive method are discouraging for this public resulting in misdiagnosis. Thus, the research project aims to develop a game that improves student motivation in the diagnostic process and a mathematical model to analyze the results of the game providing the diagnosis more assertive. The application will be tested 120 volunteers were divided into two groups. The G1 group will consist of 60 volunteers with ADHD and the G2 group of 60 volunteers without ADHD. To statistically analyze the results of statistical tests will be used as the normality test, the test sample difference and a post-hoc. Upon execution of this project is expected to get a computer game that motivates the user with ADHD and a mathematical model that uses performance in the game to assist a more assertive diagnosis of ADHD in children.
