Evaluation of bond strength of different surface treatments in IPS E-MAX press ceramics using high power laser

Abstract

Objective: evaluate and compare the influence of different ceramic surface treatments methods on your bond strength with de resin cement. 165 ceramic bases are divided into 11 groups in accordance with the surface treatment to be performed: G1- control group G2-aluminum oxide sandblast, G3- aluminum oxide sandblast and silane hot air dry, G4-surface coating with graphite and treatment with Er: YAG laser (200 mJ of energy intensity and frequency 10 Hz), G5-surface coating with graphite, treatment with Er: YAG laser (200 mJ of energy intensity and 10 Hz frequency) and silane hot air dry G6-treatment with Er: YAG laser (200 mJ of energy intensity and frequency 10 Hz) G7-treatment with Er: YAG laser (200 mJ intensity energy and 10 Hz frequency) and silane hot air dry; G8-coating the surface with graphite and treatment with Nd: YAG laser (120 mJ of energy and intensity of frequency 15 Hz); G9-coating the surface with graphite , treatment with Nd: YAG laser (120 mJ of energy intensity and 15 Hz frequency) and silane hot air dry; G10-treatment with Nd: YAG laser (120 mJ of energy intensity and frequency 15 Hz); G11-treatment with Nd: YAG laser (120 mJ of energy and intensity of frequency 15 Hz) and silane hot air dry. The resin cement (Variolink II, Ivloclar, Vivadent, Liechtestein) that will unite the specimens must be cured for 40 seconds using the LED cure equipment (Radii-cal SDI). Then the specimens will be submitted to mechanical cycling (60N and 1,000 cycles) and mechanical tests in a universal testing machine EMIC-2000. Data will be submitted to ANOVA and Dunnett test (± = 5%). (AU)
