Abstract
Poset metrics where first introduced by Brualdi et al. in 1998, generalizing on the work of Niederreiter in 1995. Applications for these metrics, a generalization of the classical hamming metric, include: describing the noise process in a wireless fading system, its use for unequal error protection, applications for decoding in parallel wiretap channels. Computing invariants os such metrics may be a difficult task, even in situations that become trivial when considering the Hamming metric. The main goal of this project is to advance the knowledge about those invariants, specially the weight enumerator polynomial. (AU)
