Abstract

The activities to be carried on the visit of Professor Albert de la Fuente Antequera are related primarily to two research projects that are in progress with the support of FAPESP, and participation in a board for PhD evaluation. Such projects are titled "parameterization of the mechanical behavior of fiber reinforced concrete pipes intended for sanitation works" (project FAPESP 2013/03260-3), "Characterization and control of segmented fiber-reinforced rings for tunnels" (project FAPESP 2014/03978-4). The main activities to be undertaken are the analysis of equipment and testing devices for concrete pipes and segments; performing numerical simulations considering different constitutive equations of the material, comparing with experimental results already performed. This study will aim to optimization of fiber (plastic and steel) or conventional reinforcement (in the case of segments); participation in writing reports and evaluating the potential for publication of results in papers for indexed journals and also planning future experimental activities in continuing the project. As a complementary activity, prof. Albert de la Fuente will give a lecture at the graduate course of EPUSP. (AU)
