Abstract

The interaction between Professor Michel Riaudel and my research students tends to be very positive, since we share similar thematic fields as well as methodological approaches. This will allow us to promote good exchanges of bibliographical references and empowerment of analysis when we discuss ongoing projects. This invitation for Prof. Riaudel to stay with my research groups takes place following a series of similar activities that have been proving very enriching. Projetcs that will benefit form Professor Riadel´s visit: During his stay in Sao Paulo, the visiting Professor will participate in the debates of my study group: Censura a Livros e Ditadura (Book Censorship and the Military Dictatorship in Brazil), discussing ongoing research projects. This study group aims at identifying, comprehending and discussing book censorship during the Military Regime of Brazil (1964-1985). Eletronic address: http://censuraalivroseditadura.org/. For 5 (five) days - between 14 and 18 o´clock- group members will present their projects (one each day), so that these projects can be evaluated, debated by all, specially the visiting professor. This debates will be open to all graduate students of ECA and EACH. Scheduled activities Research Seminars: Prof. Michel Riaudel will debate, along with me, the research projects of members belonging to our study group: Censura a Livros e Ditadura Militar no Brasil. Conferences: Prof. Michel Riaudel will do a conference at ECA-USP and another one at FFLCH-USP on the cultural and literary exchanges between France and Brazil. There is also the possibility of having him speak at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. COLLECTIVE WORK DEVELOPMENT: Prof. Riaudel´s visit will also serve as the occasion to discuss with me the collective work "Literature and History", which is now in its planning stages. This collection of papers - four by French authors and four by Brazilians- will focus the literary exchanges between Brazil and France. The results will be published in both French and Portuguese.
