Optical emission spectrometry infrastructure adequacy for otimization of studies on components migration from packages to foods

Abstract

The Board approved at its meeting held on 24/11/2014 the implementation plan of the Institutional Technical Reserve, which is the acquisition of an Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES). This equipment, widely used in studies of migration from food packaging, will replace a similar one acquired in the year 2000, whose maintenance is becoming increasingly frequent and costly, leading to constant interruptions of operation. Therefore, the acquisition of new equipment will be beneficial to several ongoing research projects which depend on it, as for example the project FAPESP nº 13/11995-3, led by Sandra Balan Mendonza Jaime.
