Abstract

This project consists of three studies that present the following objectives: Study 1: To assess the impact of the implementation intention strategy (II) in physical activity, walk modality in patients with Diabetes Mellitus from health units of a city in the interior of São Paulo State. Four research groups will be formed: control group (CG), motivational intervention group (MIG), implementation of intention strategy group (IIG) and motivational group + implementation of intention strategy (GIMA). There will be the provision of assistance and follow-up of participants for three, six and twelve months. Comparisons between groups will be done through a Generalized Estimating Equations models and by linear mixed models. Study 2: To assess the impact of Motivational Interviewing technique (MI) in the oral health of 120 patients with mental disorders users of Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) in the city of São Paulo. They will be randomly assigned to control group and MI groups. All participants will be evaluate by dental examination at baseline and followed up after three and six months, so the results of the interventions will be determined and compared. It will be applied the Student t test, chi-square test and Fisher exact test to compare the results of the intervention and control groups in the analysis of time, considering p <0.05. Study 3: To assess the prevalence of dental caries and periodontal problems in 800 adult with mental disorders users of CAPS in the city of São Paulo. It will be collected demographic and clinical data (caries and periodontal index), as well as information on quality of life (OHIP-14). Associations between clinical and independent variables will be evaluate by regression analysis. (AU)
