Symplectic geometry and the quantum-classical correspondence

Abstract

Research Project divided in four parts. The first part investigates some problems in microlocal analysis using Colombeau's theory of generalized functions. The second part aims at developing a complete treatment of symbol correspondences and their symbol products, in the context of the group $SU(1,1)$ and its coadjoint orbits, in particular the hyperbolic plane. Other groups (of compact type) may also be explored. The third part aims at developing a better definition for a mathematical object which has been ``defined'' over a decade ago as the ``blurred'' complex metaplectic group. The fourth part continues some investigations related to singularities of Wigner caustics. (AU)
