Abstract

Once our lab is especialized in cellular signaling and cell cycle control, this flow cytometer will allow us to do better analyzes in both subjects. This equipment is able to: do cell cycle analyzes; mark cell signaling pathways; determine cell species, population dynamics and so on. Moreover, the equipments software permits single cell analyzes, which can be useful to design mathematical models of signaling pathways. We did a lot of experimental testes in different equipment, but this one proved to have a better cost-benefit, since it gives to us the possibility to analyze 10 different parameters at once. Finally, another important feature is the high velocity that is achieved with the exclusive acoustic focalization system, which is important to analyze a huge quantity of samples that we are used to deal with. It will be "multi-user", since it will be used by multiple research groups. (AU)
