Characterization and study of oxidases enzymes from filamentous fungi

Abstract

During the enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass mixtures of enzymes are used for soluble fermentable sugars. The main enzymes in the mixture are: cellobiohydrolases, endoglucanases, b-glucosidase, a-xylosidases, a-arabinofuranosidases, pectinases, feruloilesterases, oxidoreductase and other accessory enzymes. Recent research has demonstrated the importance and participation of auxiliary or accessory enzymes as oxidoreductase enzymes (MCO and PMO) on degradation of lignocellulose. This proposal aims to study and characterization of oxidoreductases enzymes produced by filamentous fungi during their growth in medium containing sugar cane bagasse. The identification of oxidoreductases enzyme mixtures with potential use in the hydrolysis of lignocellulose allow efficient enzymatic treatment, and obtaining higher level of sugars from biomass.
