Abstract

One of the purpose of the of the main project to which these equipments are being requested, is to study the origem of the authoctone (in the above water column) and allochthonous (brought by currents) organic matter arriving in the manganese nodules fields. The equipments will help to analyze how the chemical and biogenic nature of nodules responds to redox potential from the organic matter produced in the euphotic zone and remineralized during sedimentation throughout the water column above.
