Abstract

Greg device aims to take the principles of Universal Design as a means to encourage the development of interactive activities in the school curriculum to enable the participation of all students, including those with a disability. The principle has a shape of an owl and aims to help educators and students to create their own interactive devices and accessibility to the curriculum in the ordinary classroom, through integration of the possibility of extending the length of the keyboard and mouse integrating devices found in the school routine. This owl allows for example to create a keyboard fruits, play dough and transform static spaces in interactive proposals. The methodology is to reference the concept of Universal Design applied to learning, so that the mechanical and electrical fields can also be planned from this same perspective on product design. It is expected to offer the market a device to facilitate the work of educators, educational psychologists and psychologists in projects serving as an accessible technology from a financial point of view (low cost) as well as ease of use in different educational proposals, especially those that may value education in an inclusive perspective. Considering the high cost of assistive technology and are often designed to perpetuate segregation, serving students in isolation, Greg, as its name says will come to aggregate all on the same project. Impact will be to show how it is possible in a simple and playful way to promote activities accessible to all students, enhancing creativity, collaboration and interactivity in the classroom. (AU)
