Abstract

This project rely on the preparation of molecular systems containing transition and lanthanide metal ions associated with oxamate ligands and auxiliary ligands that contain N- and/or O-donor sites to enable the interaction between several building blocks. The use of transition and lanthanide metal ions are important for magnetic and luminescent properties in the proposed systems. Moreover, the auxiliary ligands make room for the preparation of homo- and heterometallic systems that could lead to the formation of Metalorganic Frameworks with many dimensionalities. Another appealing mark of the auxiliary ligands to be prepared is the presence of photorreactive groups that could be able to change the magnetic interactions between the metal ions according to the range of the light spectrum irradiation over the systems. Thus, we expect to explore the formation of Metalorganic Frameworks and establish a correlation between the structure and photomagnetic and luminescent properties, contributing for the development of new multifunctional materials.
