Abstract

The main objective of this work is the improvement and expansion of laboratory infrastructure for research and capacity building, both for smart minigrids for electricity distribution supplied by hybrid generation systems using photovoltaic generation with battery bank storage, and the realization of tests with the different components and equipment of these systems, for their quality certification. The study of smart minigrids aims at obtaining theoretical and practical knowledge of the parameters that affect the performance of these types of systems, operating both in isolated and grid-connected conditions, field of work and expertise of visiting researcher. The tests with components and equipment of the generators have the goal of establishing minimum quality criteria to guarantee their operational reliability, according to the system requirements. In both cases, capacity building is of major importance for the dissemination of smart minigrids and generation with solar photovoltaics in Brazil. (AU)
