Abstract

It is the aim of this project to obtain the conditions to grow oxide nanostructures such asSnO2, Sn3O4, Sb:SnO2 e Sb2O3 by using the VLS (vapor-liquid-solid) and VS (vapor-solid) methods. Such materials are attractive because they are produced through low cost synthesis routes if compared with those used in classical semiconductors and because of their widespread use in various types of electronic devices. Specifically, structural features of the synthesized samples will be investigated as well as the electronic transport mechanisms in the nanostructures taking into account the presence of structural and electronic disorder, the dimensionality of the samples and presence of doping atoms. The investigations here proposed will enable not only the control of the transport properties of nanostructures, but also the improvement and development of more efficient routes of growth. Obtained the samples and constructed the devices, the study of the current transport mechanisms taking into account parameters that influence the performance and stability of a system based on a nanostructured semiconductor material will be performed. By creating a solid infrastructure, we intend to consolidate a new research line at the Department of Physics and Chemistry of the Faculty of Engineering Guaratinguetá, facing the growth of nanostructures and development of electronic devices based on them.
