Abstract

The Faculty of Animal Science and Food Engineering (FZEA)is structured into five Departments, the Department of Animal Science (ZAZ), Department of Basic Sciencies (ZAB), Department of Food Engineering (ZEA), Department of Biossistems Engineering(ZEB) and Department of Veterinary Medicine (ZMV). Several research and instructions laboratories, classrooms, administration and faculty membres offices are located in these Departments, some of which are buildings still under construcion. The scientific productions, interms of published papers in indexed journals, have incresead annually, with an increase of approximately 70% between the years 2005 and 2012. This dynamism of the FZEA staff, has a consequence, the continuos increment of the technical institutional over head, with higher rate of reinforcement between 2008 and 2012, coming to the expressive amount of R$659.000,00, in 2012. The amount of the technical reserves of 2013, was approximately R$ 192,500.00 (less than in previous years), and is due to normal variations in the the dynamics of research. Thus, the overall goal of this project is the acquisition of equipments and services demanded by the Departments, to supply the care groups and research laboratories, characterized as research infrastructure. The specific objectives are acquisition of laboratory equipments; maintenance of facilities for laboratories aiming adjustments and minor renovations of the basic infrastructures of various laboratories.
