Abstract

The three aims in this proposal are (1) to determine novel long noncoding RNAs expressed in pancreatic cancer using RNA-seq data, (2) to detect somatic mutations in noncoding regions and to identify significantly mutated noncoding genes using WGS data from TCGA, (3) to determine cases where somatic mutations in noncoding RNA regions disrupted the expression of neighboring genes. The planned exchange activities will be instrumental to the development of the bioinformatics tools and computational analyses required to dissect the functional roles of mutations in noncoding regions in cancer genome and their part in deregulating IncRNAs aberrantly expressed in pancreatic cancer and other human tumors.
