Abstract

The research project that will be developed in collaboration with Prof. Jean-Michel Nunzi focuses on functional supramolecular assemblies from bio-polymers that can be applied to optical rectifiers, lasers, and detectors. First, there will be a collective discussion in the team about advanced research tendencies and how to reach the goals proposed in this new collaboration interaction. An emphasis will be put on plasmonic and magnetic interactions combined with supramolecular self-assembling and auto-organization. We will then start preparing samples based on natural polymers with an aim at obtaining supramolecular assemblies for applications in photonics. Particular biopolymers of interest in the study will be DNA, collagen, chitosan and polypeptides. Samples will be characterized by microscopical and spectroscopical techniques, among others. Beside this, the visitor will deliver seminars and interact with post-grad students. Taking into account high H-index of 43 of the visitor, it is expected that this visit will impact on scientific activities in Sao Paulo State and advance on the development of new bio-inspired materials for advanced applications into wearable electronics and bio-electronics.
