Abstract

The strategic purpose of this thematic project is to concentrate, to increase, to empower and to consolidate a research group essentially dedicated to establish scientific support and technological innovation on thematic field of precast concrete and composite structures, aiming to contribute for civil construction modernization. More specifically, on intends to develop researches on the following fields: a) connections for precast concrete structures; b) connections for steel-concrete composite structures; c) composite concrete elements; d) steel-concrete composite elements. The choice of linking these research areas together in a thematic projetct is justified mainly by the similarity of procedures that are used to study all these subjects. The researches on connections of precast concrete and steel-concrete composite structures, as well as concrete and steel-concrete composite elements, have affinity regarding experimental analysis, numerical modeling and design models. To reach the strategic purpose, the project has five main researches and five consultants. The main quantitative goals to be achieved are: a) regarding the formation of experts - 18 master and 11 doctoral degrees; b) regarding scientific production - 22 paper in national journals; 40 papers in national congresses; 12 paper in international journals and 32 papers in international congresses.
