Abstract

The energy generation from renewable sources constitutes an worldwide unquestionable trend today and in Brazil with the recent Reserve Energy Auctions focused in energy generation from renewables sources, it has been highlighted worldwide, especially with wind generation, that had the first auction in late 2009 and is now the 10th largest wind energy producer in the world ranking. With ANEEL Normative Resolution 482/2012, which regulates the grid tied distributed micro and minigeneration a great opportunity was open not only to electricity consumer, but mainly for entrepreneurs who see an opportunity to meet the need of these consumers. Since that Resolution 482/2012 764 micro and minigeradors were registered at ANEEL until September 2015. Of these, only 45 are wind turbines against 710 of photovoltaic, with the higher power of 12kW against 967kW of photovoltaic. This demonstrate that there is a demand for wind turbines of higher power. In our market, the Brazilian wind turbine higher power available is 24hW (from Canoas Eolica) but no equipment is grid tied to date, and is not certified. Our proposal is to offer to the market a 40 kW wind turbine meeting the requirements established by the 168/2015 Ordnance of INMETRO and additionally by IEC 61400-2 standard, which defines the requirements for small wind turbines. Our turbine, with 40kW, is at the limit of the category of small wind turbine defined by IEC 61400-2 that limits the rotor swept area by 200 m2, having 197 m2. (AU)
