Abstract
In Brazil, the meat production from sheep does not attend to domestic market, demand, it is required importation of this type of food. In this case the sheep production represent is a good opportunity in brazilian agribusiness. The herd nutrition, as well as, reproduction are key points for development of this sector. Measures aimed at reducing production costs are welcome. The availability of cottonseed is higher becouse the plant production is an increased, than this food source is a important to be used in the diet of ruminants. However, this seed has anti-nutritional factor called gossypol, that it has toxity and can provide negatively affect on fertility in male. So, it is need further evaluate to use this food with security because very little is known about maternal and decent effect of sheep fed with cottonseed. In this scenario approach in nutrigenomics and evaluation multielement techniques will be of great value to make progress on the issue and make sure recommendation to use this seed in ruminant feed. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of cottonseed (gossypol) intake for Santa Ines ewe on testicular development lamb. (AU)
