Abstract

The macro and micro invertebrate fauna present in intracratonic basins of Paraná, Amazonas and Parnaíba are relatively well studied and documented in the literature in general. However, the northwest, north and south borders of the Paraná Basin, which covers the states of Mato Grosso, Goiás and Uruguay, are extremely poor in paleofauna studies. Recent papers show that during the late Eifelian the Frasnian (Devonian Middle Superior) occurred possible communications between the three Paleozoic basins, facilitating migration routes of at least crinoids and trilobites in the north-south direction. This research project is based on the hypothesis that there were dispersion routes between the aforementioned basins, which facilitated the biotic exchanges of the macroinvertebrate between these basins. In order to demonstrate these routes, the fossils collected in the northeastern edge of the Paraná Basin are classified taxonomically, in order to correctly identify the species, and paleobiogeographical, in order to find similarities between these taxa and faunas of the Amazon and Parnaíba basins or other Gondwana basins.
