Abstract

The separation laminar flow and the formation of separation bubbles is a problem of great technological importance due to their strong relationship with the aerodynamic properties of the airfoils which operate at high angles of attack. This project aims to study the three-dimensional primary instability in laminar separation bubbles in flat plates, flow in cavities and airfoils and the consequences of it with respect to the secondary instabilities. With the cited stduies, we will be used the advanced tools for local analysis and global instability of these complex flows. The results will provide insight concerning of theoretical and reduced models for the prediction of the effects associated with the generated structures and the development of strategies to control the flow.
