Abstract

This research aims to investigate the implications of the formal work of the actor in the audiovisual media (film and television), making a historiography of the various forms of acting and proceeding to esthetic analyzes on the performance. It starts from the principle that the body and persona of the actor influences in the composition of the creative process of the audiovisual work and determine their conception of mise en scène, as well as the choices of framing, lighting, editing and writing scripts. It is intended to reverse the methodology of aesthetic analyzes around movies and television products, where the actor is always accessory, and focus on the discussion around four relations: actor and character, actor and director, actor and mise en scène, actor and media, actor and acting technique. Beyond sociological, economic and empirical approaches involving the choice and use of actors in film and TV, we intend to study acting as an aesthetic object, able to be quantified and qualified, a transdisciplinary approach involving theory and history of theater and visual arts.
