Abstract

This proposal aims to apply for a financial support for a visiting researcher to participate in post-graduate course and also to collaborate on research projects in progress, as well as planning other projects in collaboration to be developed later. Professor Gerrard has international recognition in his area of expertise (muscle growth and development and meat science) and his visit to our institution will be of great importance to promote new researches related to animal growth and meat quality. In addition, offering a course for graduate students he will contribute to the education of students from FZEA and other Brazilian institutions that are interested in the meat science. This visit will also serve to strengthen the already existing cooperation, also culminating in the institutional agreement for exchange of students and researchers between the institutions. Finally, this visit will be of great importance to assist in strengthening the international insertion pursued by our research group, by the graduate program in Animal Science and also by the Institution (FZEA/USP).
