Random lasers in semiconductor nanocrystals

Abstract

This project is aimed to investigate Random Lasers, which are based on laser emission in disordered media, in the absence of optical cavity. New methods for operation of random lasers and basic emission mechanisms and optical amplification will be investigated. In particular, we will study Random Lasers that operates based on frequency upconversion and multi-photon absorption in semiconductor nanocrystals and luminescent dielectric. (AU)
