Abstract

In the last years, the Rosana Campus has been standing out in the research field, with a fund-raising increase for this important University's pillar. The volume of publication in periodicals and events has grown systematically, having the undergraduate students as main protagonists. With the beginning of the Energy Engineering undergraduate course in 2014, new teachers arrived and new lines of research started in Campus, in addition to the activities in progress from the Tourism course. The multi-disciplinary interaction has been providing good results, whether individually in each undergraduate course, or by the extension programs coming from teachers' researches. Currently there are thirty-five scholarship students (scientific initiation by FAPESP, CNPq, P&D Projects, UNESP) and eight projects with external funding (FAPESP, CNPq, P&D) in the Campus.Besides the regular funding offered by FAPESP, many students hold scientific initiation scholarships in lines directed attached to the approved projects, however, in many cases there are no specific physical space to develop their activities. That considered, the resources of the institutional technical reserve will be invested in 2018, on the conception of an Interdisciplinary Research Lab, to meet the necessity of scholarship students from both courses to develop their activities. There are four research labs in Campus, two belonging to Tourism course and two belonging to Energy Engineering course, yet not all scholarship students are linked to those labs. Other four research labs will be stablished in 2018 with own resources, in attention to new external resources raised in 2017 by researching projects. The facility will also be useful to welcome visiting researchers and graduate students and to host small meetings of the research groups. At present, there are six research groups in Campus and it is very important to have a facility like this one.The resources will afford the purchasing of four computer desks and an air conditioner equipment. The Campus Administration is already delivering the furniture (tables and chairs) and the room. That space will be important for experience sharing among students and teachers, to contribute even more to enhance researching in Campus, quantitatively and qualitatively. It is hoped that this structure cover scholarship students' needs and make the research in Campus grow in quality.
