Abstract

Dr. João Maroco is the author of the only available book on structural equation modeling originally written in Portuguese. He is on the cutting edge of knowledge in his field. We have been research partners since 2009. During this time, we have collaborated on projects that resulted in the publication of 47 scientific articles in indexed journals. Dr. Maroco has also hosted UNESP undergraduates, graduate students, and professors at the University Institute for Psychological, Social, and Life Sciences (the ISPA) in Portugal through internships, exchange programs, and technical visits. Our current studies involve projects that we have been partners on since 2013. Dr. Maroco's arrival in Brazil will be an opportunity to show him the progress on these projects and to take the steps necessary to complete them. During his visit, new collaborations will also be proposed for 2018 to 2020 so that our bond can be strengthened through research and professional development. Dr. Maroco is also likely to teach two courses of interest on the field of structural equation modeling- Structural Equation Analysis and Invariance of Psychometric Scales-, which will be available to any interested undergraduates, graduate students, or professors.
